What We're Looking For

** Absolutely no artificial intelligence (AI) bot generated, conceived, assisted, composed, or etc. poems will be accepted.**

Tanasi River Review ONLY accepts POETRY.

We are looking for contemporary narrative work, rich in language, rooted in place. Tanasi means "meeting place". The intersection of people and nature.

Work that requires a lot of special formatting/colors/symbols may be a hard sell (I need to be able to copy/paste this into the blog pretty easily). Same with copious end rhyme.

Because we do not yet have past issues for reference the kind of poetry we're after, read Ada Limon, Louise Gluck, Jane Kenyon, William Stafford, Jim Harrison, Ted Kooser, Luci Shaw, Linda Hogan, A. R. Ammons, Stanley Kunitz, Naomi Shihab Nye, W. S. Merwin.

What we're NOT looking for: Politics, violence, or graphic work. We will not consider work that is racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, ableist, or any other discrimination.
